High bill after moving in

If you’ve moved into a new home and your first statement’s higher than you expected, it may be because:

  • You were with OVO at your previous home – but your new plan reflects the latest energy rates which may be higher than your previous plan.

  • You’ve chosen a variable plan, where rates are higher than on a fixed plan. Switch to one of our fixed plans (Better Energy or 2 Year Fixed Energy) to lower your rates.

  • We opened your account with an estimated reading – or the previous tenant gave an incorrect reading. Check your meters and submit a new reading so we can bill you accurately. If you have a smart meter it’ll send us readings automatically. If you need to take a reading manually, press number 9 on your meter.
