Switching away objection
An ‘objection’ is an official way for an energy supplier to put your switch on hold.
Here are some reasons why this might happen:
Your account’s in debt so you owe money.
You’ve broken the terms of your contract.
Your supply has been switched by accident, known as an erroneous transfer.
Your new provider has tried to switch a ‘related’ meter or meters (which have 2 or more meter point administration numbers – MPANs) at the same time, rather than separately.
If we do raise an objection, we'll let you know as soon as possible and explain why we raised it. We'll also let you know how you can resolve the issue so your switch can go ahead.
