Smart meter not sending readings alert
Had an alert on your account to say your smart meter hasn’t sent a recent reading? Don’t worry – this will be down to one of the following reasons:
If your smart meter's an older (or incompatible) model, we're unable to receive automatic readings from it. If your smart meter has never sent OVO an automatic reading, please read your meter yourself and send us your reading(s).
If you chose the monthly reading option when you had your smart meter installed, this means you’ll only see your balance updated at the start of each month. Please get in touch if you’d like to set up more frequent readings.
Smart meters can sometimes stop communicating. This usually fixes itself, so please keep checking back into your account. As soon as your smart meter sends us a reading your account balance will update with your accurate energy use and costs.
