Here are the common reasons for unusually high charges on statements:

Your smart meter’s not working properly

If your smart meters send out unusually high readings, you’ll need to give us a call so we can look into it. We’ll send out an engineer if need be.

You’ve had a problem with one of your fuels (gas or electricity)

And you’ve only been paying for one. As the issue is now fixed, we need to bring your balance up to date. You’ll find these charges backdated and shown across your previous statement. We may recommend you make a top-up payment to cover these extra costs – or increase your Direct Debit amount to cover your future energy use.
